The first exhibition of Istanbul Planning Agency (IPA), which was initiated by Yusuf Ölmez and supported by Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB), “The Sound of Water, The Alphabet of the City”, took place at IPA Campus between March 21 and April 18, 2023.

The project aims to read the urban struggle from the perspective of art. The exhibition showcases the forced abandonment of the free use of the citizens and the destruction of heterotopias with the promise of utopia together with our living spaces compressed as transformation or restoration. The exhibition features multiple mediums like photographs, paintings, illustrations that reflects on the environmental destruction and transformation of the silhouette. It also focuses on Canal Istanbul Project, which is a bitter example of ecocide. Curated by Aybüke Fayetörbay, the exhibition features various works by Balkan Karışman, Burcu Perçin, Ferhat Özgür, Hakan Keleş, Rafi Baysal and Yusuf Ölmez.
